Have you heard about the mysterious comet traveling toward earth?
Astronomers have labelled this celestial being the 3i-Atlas. There are questions about whether this interstellar traveller can officially be classified as a comet. This celestial body is structurally unique and moving differently than would be expected of a comet (from western-science points of view).
What seems certain is that the comet originates from outside our solar system. On December 19th, the comet will be passing close by our earth (as measured in galactic concepts of close proximity). This fly-by connection with our planet occurs just before the New Moon and very close in time to the shiftings with Solstice. These interwoven passages are filled with momentum into the new.
In public media spaces, there are heated debates about the nature of this brilliant outer-space entity whose origins are elsewhere. There are fear-filled conspiracies being tossed around. In a recent conversation with friends, over delicious cups of cacao elixir, our questions and wonder and curiosity came alive about this mysterious celestial being passing close by.
We decided to have a Throwing the Bones Ceremony to see what the spirits have to say about all this, to receive ceremonial knowledge, to hear perspectives from ancestors and ancient ones carrying knowings beyond the human mind.
Harbinger of Change
The comet is heralding the ending of an era. The comet is marking and shaping a significant shifting in the web of life on our earth. This is not only for and about the humans, and there are particular effects and invitations for human beings, for each of us and all of us, at this time. The presence of the comet marks a particular moment, a shifting cycle, in the Great Turning that has been organically unfolding for awhile.
As we move through the doorways of change, the new era being birthed is described as a breath of fresh air that is vital and awakens freedom. We are emerging into an entirely new way of being, guided by ancient knowings carried within us and in the stars, filled with knowledge about belonging and balance and harmony on earth.
Unwarranted Fears
There is nothing to fear about this comet’s presence and passage through our solar system. There is no danger.
The invitation is to release well-entrenched fears about change. We’ve been conditioned to use fear as a tool of control to keep the status-quo in place. We are being called to untangle from the addiction to fear as the pathmaker for our own and others’ lives.
The healing opportunity is to see how we’ve absorb the dogmas of fear, and how we overlay fear onto anyone or anything that is ‘different” or “unusual” or “not from my neighborhood” or “not doing what they should do.”
If we’re not afraid…well, what then? What happens in your mind and heart, in how you see what you see, in what you do with what you hear? What opens and expands and gives and receives and connects more freely and genuinely?
The Spirits are showing that the fears being evoked are unwarranted. These are old conditioned patterns, the falsehoods and lies, that keep us disconnected and isolated and running away from what is actually nourishing, beneficial, and rooted in integrity and love.
Vast Intelligence
Our ceremony showed how the comet is part of an interwoven dynamic relationship with our earth, sun, and moon. All of these beings are alive. They are intelligent and concious living beings involved in an extraordinary complex web of relationships through an unimaginable flow of time.
The invitation for humans is to settle into our natural part in this intricate web of relationships. No loss of self is required to be in relationship. We are learning to relate Aliveness to Aliveness. Heart to Heart. Song to Song. Energy fields touching energy fields. Bodies of knowledge touching bodies of knowledge.
Giving. Receiving. Communicating. Sharing. Interacting. Learning. Healing. Transforming. Growing. Deepening. Enriching. Co-creating.
The possibility for humans is to reach beyond the limited ways we’ve been building relationships with ourselves, others, life. We are opening into the ways of experiencing the aliveness and intelligence in all beings. We are reaching toward new horizons that respect and understand diversity as essential for the continuance of life.
This is part of the shift that heralds the end of an era and the passageway into the new. Human beings are being called to reconstruct our relationships so they are not distorted and boxed-in by hierarchies, judgments, and fears. This transformation begins on the inside – relating with oneself without any evaluation of better-than or less-than, good or bad, deserving or not. We are so much more than we’ve been led to believe. We have gifts far beyond what we’ve been told humans are capable of.
A more expansive understanding and exporation of who you are – your unique individual nature and your expression in this lifetime as a human – sets the foundation from which all relationships will be built with other humans and the many many beings we are always in relationship with.
Seeing yourself for who you really are opens up spaciousness, a natural intelligence, to see others for who they really are. Seeing and being seen lives in the heart of relationships.
The comet’s presence at this time is shaking up and influencing these kinds of changes with human beings. The energy field of this star being, the ancient knowledges and intelligences touching us as the comet passes by, offer transformative healing gifts.
Bringing This Down to Earth
So what does this mean for our everyday lives? How can we connect with these passages of change marked in such a heightened way this Solstice Season?
Notice the impulses for change in your life. Honor how others are also taking steps in new directions, even if this feels confusing or surprising or unfamiliar. Change and transformation, creating something new, means stepping into the mystery and unknowns.
We are being called to shed old skins that keep us tied to the out-of-balance ways: judgments, fears, hierarchies, secrecy, lies, regrets, addictions, blame, and shame.
We are learning to welcome the mysteries with open eyes and hearts and minds. We are making new maps. We are crafting new pathways. We are expanding and stretching beyond limited beliefs and stuck-in-a-rut familiar patterns. We will be functioning and relating differently, like the insterstellar traveller in our skies, when we think and feel and live and love all the more fully in balance from the heart.
We are learning to walk with Death ~ dismantle, untangle, allow the dying away ~ with honoring and respect, with ample spaciousness for grieving.
We are learning to initiate and midwife the Birthings ~ to seed and gestate, to hold and nurture, to expand our embrace so there’s plenty of room to grow. In this way, new potentials come into existence and are lovingly woven into our inner worlds, into our ways of being, into our relationships, and onto our earth.
Creativity, co-creating, is essential for us to reweave balance, harmony, integrity, respect, and love in our lives and in our world.
Visioning and sensing and crafting new blueprints sets new possibilities in place.
