Last weekend, I had the honor of holding a Cacao Ceremony with a group of women gathering to celebrate their friend and her fall wedding. While preparing the cacao elixir and altar items for the ceremony, I was touched by the gifts of being involved with a celebration of Love.
We need more celebrations of Love. In these changing and challenging times, it’s essential to seek out and create ways to feel again the pure beauty and wonder of Love. Feeling and expressing our lovingness, each in our unique ways, is a natural aspect of being alive. Love roots us again in the very center of our hearts, and then everything grows from there.
I was reminded in our ceremonial gathering that when we pause, slow down, and take a breath, hidden emotions often rise to the surface. Love has ample space for everyone to be just who they are, to feel how they feel, to speak openly of their lives. Love embraces laughter, invites honest courageous sharing, and welcomes the rivers of tears.
Out beyond ideas
of wrongdoing and rightdoing
there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
~ Rumi
May we purposefully create, seek out, and share healing spaces and conversations free of judgments and blame. In a world built out of either-or beliefs ~ superior/inferior, better/less, deserving/undeserving, good/bad, right/wrong ~ very few possibilities exist. We’ll justify our judgments. We’ll stay addicted to war, fighting against ourselves, each other, life itself, and our earth.
We are free to explore the boundless field that exists beyond the limited ideas that box everybody in. We can choose to cultivate and nourish wide-open spaces, inside us and all around, with care and connection, respectful listening, heart-centered sharing, genuine appreciation, and ample space for laughter and tears.
Here’s to falling in love with Love again ~ awakening our hearts and remembering how to receive and give Love so generously.
